Assistant Accountant     

• Assistant Accountant
• $60-65k + Super
• 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
  

About our clientAdecco is partnering with a specialised Insurance company who is seeking a strong Assistant Accountant to join their team to play a key part in assisting with the financial processes and reporting.  This role is to cover maternity leave to start in October for 12 months and there's a genuine possibility it could go permanent.
About the RoleReporting to the Financial Controller your duties will be as follows:

• Assisting with bank reconciliations
• Assisting with statutory account preparation and quarterly regulatory reporting
• Assisting with the annual budget preparation
• Preparation of general ledger journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with month end reporting
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Calculating statutory payment obligations including BAS, payroll, superannuation and Preparing ad hoc reports and analysis using Excel
• Ad hoc duties as they arise
  

What you will bring to the roleThe successful candidate will have completed a tertiary qualification in Accounting or be studying towards a CPA/CA qualification.   You will be able to work within a small close knit team environment and be flexible and willing to help others when required. Your communication skills will be of a high standard with the ability to build instant rapport with key stakeholders locally and internationally. SAP experience would advantageous
